I NEALY LOST HOPE IN SCHOOL UNTIL I CHANGED MY STRATEGY
My 100L experience was one of the toughest periods of my academic journey.
I struggled to understand and assimilate even a single page. I went through days without proper rest and nights without sleep, reading as if there were no tomorrow. Despite all the sacrifices, I still found it difficult to express myself during examinations.
My first semester felt like hell. After everything I went through, my result came out with five E’s, including three courses worth 3 units each. My CGPA barely reached 1.5.
I was devastated. I began to question myself and wondered if I was truly capable of succeeding in school.
I thought reading endlessly without playing or socializing was the secret to academic success. Little did I know that all work and no play makes Jack a dull boy.
Going into my second semester, I decided to change my approach. Instead of spending countless hours studying, I became more strategic. I studied for a few focused hours, made time to play, and connected with my friends.
Then came the result.
The joy I felt was beyond words. It taught me that academic success is not just about how many hours you spend reading but also about how effectively you study, manage your time, and maintain a healthy balance.
My biggest lesson? Never give up on yourself because of one bad result. Sometimes, you don’t need to work harder; you need to work smarter.
Your first failure doesn’t have to define your final outcome. Sometimes, all it takes is a change of strategy.
